You’ll spend between $500 and $3,000 or $1 to $3.50 per square foot to paint concrete. However, expect to pay $2 to $7 per square foot since concrete almost always needs a coat of primer first. Double that price if the concrete requires stripping. Concrete is porous. Sealing it not only helps blend foundations and walls with your home’s aesthetic, but also seals it against water. Repairing or resurfacing concrete costs $300 to $500 for every 100 square feet.
The expert house painters at Paintzen know how to use Dallas’ climate to our advantage and when the best days are to paint. Here in North Texas, we can, fortunately, paint exteriors throughout much of the year and not just in the summertime, as with many other parts of the country. Fall, early winter, and late spring can also be excellent times to paint the exterior of your Dallas home, so call us at any time of the year to hire a painter and start loving the way your home looks to the outside world.
Scrub, then patch. Dirt, mildew, and chalky old paint prevent fresh paint from adhering properly. If your house was built before 1978, there might be lead paint below the surface. (See CR’s step-by-step guide for using a test kit to check for lead paint.) In that case, you’ll need to use a certified lead-abatement contractor to prep the surface. Otherwise, scrub the surface with a wire brush or scrub pad, or very carefully with a pressure washer, and clean with a detergent such as Red Devil TSP. Thornton Home Painting
However, the exterior paint is not just about looking good. If it were only up to that, we’d paint the outside of our houses every year. A good exterior paint job is also protective. Outside paints are usually more durable and serve not only to look good but to protect your house. Coating wood or other materials with paint and protective coating will protect the outside of your house from deteriorating faster. The outside is exposed to a lot of sunlight, rain, snow and all kinds of different weather, so it’s important to properly protect it.
